Coming soon: Immuta row filtering and column masking in Databricks Delta Sharing on by default
What's changing
Immuta supports row filtering and column masking on Unity Catalog managed, external, and foreign tables in shares from Databricks Delta Sharing. Since these securables now support Immuta subscription and data policies, you gain enhanced security and flexibility with consistent policy enforcement across your Unity Catalog ecosystem.
Note that this applies to Delta Sharing recipients. Delta Sharing providers cannot share tables with row-level security or column masks. Databricks limitations on row filters and column masks
Timeline
The release of this feature will follow Immuta’s behavior change release process. The specific dates for each phase in that process are outlined below.
- Opt-in period: 3/31 - 4/30
- On by default period: 5/1 - 5/31. Contact your Immuta representative or submit a support ticket before this period begins to opt out of this feature.
- Enabled for all accounts: 6/1
To use this feature, you must
- Be fully migrated to Unity Catalog connections
- Be upgraded to Immuta’s enhanced architecture
