Immuta row filtering and column masking in Databricks Delta Sharing
Immuta supports row filtering and column masking on Unity Catalog managed, external, and foreign tables in shares from Databricks Delta Sharing. Because these securables now support Immuta subscription and data policies, you gain enhanced security and flexibility with consistent policy enforcement across your Unity Catalog ecosystem.
Note that this applies to Delta Sharing recipients only. Delta Sharing providers cannot share tables with row-level security or column masks. See the Databricks documentation for details about limitations for row filters and column masks.
Requirements
To use this feature, you must
- Be fully migrated to Unity Catalog connections
- Be upgraded to Immuta’s enhanced architecture
Timeline
The release of this feature followed Immuta’s behavior change release process. The specific dates for each phase in that process are outlined below.
- Opt-in period: 3/31 - 4/30
- On by default period: 5/1 - 5/31
- Enabled for all accounts: 6/1
