Review assist now uses contextual request data

Recommendation to approve data access
Recommendation to approve data access

Review assist, Immuta’s AI-powered recommendation engine for data access requests, now uses request form responses as part of its analysis. This adds a new layer of context to how recommendations are generated.

What’s new

Review assist previously generated recommendations such as approve, deny, or grant temporary access based on:

  • The data being requested
  • User metadata (such as groups and attributes like “Engineering” or “Manager”)

It now also evaluates:

  • The answers provided by the users in the request forms

This allows review assist to identify patterns in the stated reasons for access, in addition to who is requesting access and what data is involved.

Benefits to you

  • Higher accuracy and lower risk: By considering the "why" behind a request, review assist provides more precise risk scores (low, moderate, high). This reduces the likelihood of human error and ensures that access is granted for the right reasons.

  • Reduce manual burden: Data stewards no longer need to manually cross-reference request form answers against historical approvals. The AI does the heavy lifting, surfacing recommendations that align with both organizational trends and the specific context of the current request.

  • Faster turnaround times: With AI-generated justifications that reflect the nuance of form responses, Stewards can review and finalize determinations in seconds. Once approved, users are provisioned access immediately, accelerating data-driven initiatives.

  • Consistency: This update ensures that similar business justifications are treated consistently across your organization, regardless of which steward is reviewing the request.

See it in action

Review assist automatically appears on access requests once a trend is detected (typically after 11+ determinations). Once you enable the private preview, there is no manual configuration required to begin benefiting from this new contextual analysis; simply ensure your request forms are capturing the information your stewards need to make a decision, and review assist will handle the rest.
