Upcoming behavior change: Snowflake data policy impersonation

Image #1

Snowflake data policy impersonation will be enabled beginning Monday, February 23, for all customers who have not opted out before that date.

If you would like to opt out of this feature release, contact your Immuta representative before February 23.

🔎 What’s changing

Impersonation is now compatible with the latest version of Immuta’s Snowflake integration, which uses low-row access policy mode for improved overall performance.

With this update,

  • Impersonation is available for data policy access only

  • Administrators can impersonate users to view the row- and column-level restrictions applied to them

  • The impersonator’s subscription policy access remains unchanged while impersonating another user

This release follows Immuta’s standard behavior change release process.

📅 Release timeline

  • Opt-in period: January 22 – February 22

  • On by default period: February 23 – March 22

  • Enabled for all accounts: March 23
